Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Massage

Thoracic outlet syndrome is a very common condition resulting in pain, numbness and tingling down the arm and into the hand.
The mechanism behind this condition is simple: muscles in the side of the neck called scalene muscles are in spasm for some reason, like sleeping funny, stress, computer work, sitting with the phone between your shoulder and ear while working on the computer, playing the violin, even just stress. These muscles then become hard and tight and clamp down on the brachial nerve on it's path to the arm, as well as the artery supplying the arm. In some cases the pectoral minor muscle in the chest also goes into spasm and also clamps down on the same nerve and artery.
Sadly, this condition is often misdiagnosed as a cervical disc problem and very often results in unnecessary surgery.
Treatment is simple:
1.Massage.
2.Stretching.
